time. These items are not mass produced in large quantity and I operate
strictly on a first come, first serve basis. Because of the large variety
of ordinance, I do not stock any inventory. The items are built to order and
your order can usually be processed within two weeks. Large items or a
large quantity order may take longer. I will accept a check or money order
as payment. A check would have to clear first prior to shipping which
could delay the shipment for up to 15 business days. Do not delay in
ordering as inventory can change due to material availability or unforeseen
reasons. Please contact me by phone or email for questions and current

black powder artillery of any size is inherently dangerous. All black powder
products we sell are meant for recreational and display use only. Our cannons
should always be used under the supervision of an adult who is knowledgable in
the use of black powder ordinances. Misuse of any cannon or mortar may result in

BLACK POWDER VS. BLACK POWDER SUBSTITUTE.
WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE?
Cannons and mortars will generally perform best
with real black powder or "BP". The most popular is Goex brand which
is usually sold in one pound steel cans for about $30. Other brands of
black powder include Elephant, Swiss, Schuetzen, KIK and Olde Eynsford.
Real BP is also manufactured in five popular grain sizes from coarse to fine.
These are Cannon grade, Fg, FFg, FFFG, FFFFG. BP has a very fast
burn rate which is why it works well in mortars and other short barrel
ordinance. This fast burn rate will cause the powder to completely consume
before the projectile has a chance to exit the bore. BP is also
classified as an explosive and because of this classification, some gun stores
and retailers will not carry it due to the extra requirements for commercial
storage and resale. The other alternative is to purchase it online.
Most online retailers will have a minimum order requirement, usually 5 pounds
but the cost is generally less per pound than a local retail store.
There is an another classification of black powder known as black powder
substitutes. The two most popular brands are Pyrodex & Triple 7
with grain sizes of "RS" for rifle/shotgun and "P" for pistol. This powder is
classified as a propellant and is carried by most gun store retailers.
I even seen this type of powder in Walmart during muzzle loader hunting
season. It has a very similar burn rate to smokeless powders in that
it burns much slower than real black powder. This slow burn will launch
the projectile out of the barrel with only a fraction of the charge and continue
to burn the remainder of its charge after the projectile left the bore.
The result is typically a maximum range of about 25 to 50 feet in a mortar
compared to 200 + yards with real BP or a poof vs. a boom in a salute
